In 2025, Uzbekistan is actively upgrading its bus fleet. Tashkent will receive 1,000 new buses, including 200 electric ones. By the end of 2024, the capital had 1,901 buses — a 28% increase compared to 2022. Average waiting times at stops have dropped from 22 to 10–12 minutes.

Since January 1, 2025, cash payments on Tashkent’s public transport have been fully phased out — only electronic payment methods are accepted. As a result, passenger traffic has grown by 43.5%.

Regions have also received 241 buses and 113 minibuses. A total of 113 new routes were launched. In Samarkand, 100 electric buses and 50 charging stations are being introduced.
